Palyanytsya

WITH UKRAINIAN SUBTITLES. Over the course of two and a half years, they visited Kyiv, Irpin, Bucha, Borodyanka, Kharkiv, Izium, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Odesa, and Mykolaiv. Each of these cities became not just a point on the map but a deeply emotional experience that demanded reflection. Despite the pain, loss, and destruction, Ukrainians remain strong, and their resilience has become a phenomenon that cannot be ignored. In “PALYANYTSIA”, art acquires a new meaning — it stops searching for answers and instead becomes a tool for asking questions: about humanity, freedom, and the ability to remain oneself amidst the chaos of war. The film’s title is symbolic. “Palyanytsia” — a traditional Ukrainian bread — has become a password, a marker of identity and strength. In the film, it serves as a metaphor that compels every viewer to pause and ask: Who am I? Whose side am I on? What am I ready to change in myself to change the world?
