R&A 16: Crazy about Tiffany's

1 h 26 min  |  Love&Anarchy  |  Release Date: 16.9.2016

(D)director Matthew Miele brings a pinch of irony and conflict to this gorgeous waft through the perfumed and bejewelled halls of the world’s most famous jewellery store in New York.

This pop-cultural and retail dissection of Tiffany’s is filled with amusing interviews with actresses including Jessica Biel, Kate Reardon of Tatler and the acidic columnist Fran Lebowitz. The niche placement of jewellery on the Oscar red carpet is discussed, and even the woman who patented Tiffany’s box colour – no 1837 robin’s egg blue – at Pantone, is consulted, as well as the Deep Blue Something rocker who wrote the 1995 song »Breakfast at Tiffany’s».

A particularly special interview comes with the socialite Muffie Potter Aston on the subject of her Paloma Picasso love ring. »Here’s to the ladies who lunch!» goes the soundtrack, and the film also relishes the fact that the store’s most famous customer, Audrey Hepburn’s Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, was actually a high-end prostitute.
